Thousands of displaced Tamils on Monday marched to the UNHCR offices in Mannar to handover appeals and petitions for transmission to United Nations, heads of international governments and diplomatic offices located in Colombo. The petitions appealed to the international community to pressure the Sri Lankan government to restore their refugee relief supplies. The marchers denounced the Sinhalese government for cutting refugee relief to Tamils.

The march organised by the confederation of citizens committees of Mannar started from Palampiddy at 10.30 AM and reached the UNHCR offices two hours later.
