Shelling kills one

A 62 year old woman, V.Theivanaipillai, was killed and her husband, Velupillai, 70, was seriously wounded when the Sri Lankan Army fired artillery from the Elephant Pass base this morning around 6.00 a.m., towards Kandaavalai in the Kilinochchi district.

Meanwhile the Voice Tigers (VoT) said in its news bulletin this evening that the troops in the Elephant Pass fired artillery continuously.

Two civilians were killed and 2 others were wounded last Sunday when the SLA in the Elephant Pass base fired artillery shells towards Kandavalai.
