Fourteen human skeletons have so far been dug up in the Chemmani area by investigators, according to officials in Jaffna. Three skeletons were found near the Kottukkinattady Pillaiyar temple today.

Two were found in the place identified by D.M Jakatilaka, one of the former Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers convicted in the rape and murder of the Jaffna school girl Krishanthy Kumarasamy and the murder of her mother, brother and neighbour.

Jayatilaka told investigators that fifty civilians were killed and buried at this place.

Another skeleton was found in front of the temple, the officials said.
