Skeleton found in well

A skeleton was found in a well in Suruvil in Jaffna when a family who had recently returned to their home were cleaning out a well today.

They informed the Divisional Secretary. The skeleton is kept at the Kayts Police.

Villagers of Suruvil were displaced in 1995 when the Sri Lanka Army launched Operation Riviresa to capture the Jaffna Peninsula.

They have now started to returned to their homes, sources said.

Meanwhile Sri Lankan Police arrested two persons at Eravur Market during a search operation around 5.30 p.m. this evening.

Suppaiah Saharajah,26 was arrested on suspicion and Ahamed Leppai,30 was arrested for not providing his Identity Card, police sources said.

They are detained at the Eravur Police station.
