A group of asylum-seekers is believed to have hijacked a boat off the Sri Lankan coast with the aim of heading to Australia. Sri Lanka's high commissioner to Australia, Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, said the missing fishing trawler, Theja, was a known people-smuggling vessel that was being used by six crew for fishing when it was apparently taken. A boatload of up to 12 people came alongside the Theja and an argument reportedly broke out. Five of the crew went overboard with one remaining on board. [
