The sleepy town of Palmdale-Lancaster county in Southern California was hit by a stunning performance by a local Ceylon born thamil girl who got 1600 out of 1600 on the Educational Testing Services (ETS) administrated Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Miss Amirtha Harichandran is a high school student at Lancaster high. She had actively participated in many of the thamil issues concerning Vanni projects. As a member of the local thamil youth group (www.tamilyouths.org) she had helped in many of the fund raising events which had made significant contributions towards the Vanni Orphans and Widows projects. Miss Amirtha will be enjoying a seventeenth birth day this year and had been contacted by Stanford, Caltech and Harvard Universities freshmen admissions staff.
In her comments to our staff writer Miss Amirtha was humble to say, " it is not the SAT 1600, but what I would do with this to the thamil struggle matters to me a lot.". Tamil Canadian wishes the best to Miss Amirtha Harichandran of Lancaster, California.
